Arkell to Address Lending Risks and Policy Considerations for Volunteers
Credit unions recently received information by mail to share with their directors and committee members to attend the MCUL & Affiliates 2018 Spring Leadership Development Conference.
CULendingAdvice Consultant Don Arkell is one of the many well-known speakers at the event. He will be delivering a two-part session titled “Lending 101 for Volunteers: Answers to Questions You Haven't Asked Management."
Arkell will explain that, regardless of asset size, lending generates the vast majority of revenue for credit unions and that aside from generating revenue, this area of the business represents a significant risk to sustainability. He will address the role of volunteers in policy considerations, FICO scores and what they really mean and cover the differences between risk-based pricing vs. risk-based lending. He will also discuss options for lending delivery channels, collateral risk and valuation and portfolio risk.
The event offers over a dozen training options for volunteers and CEOs, and takes place April 27-29 at the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort in Mount Pleasant. Hotel accommodations are being held at a negotiated rate until April 4.Go to main navigation
