Help Members Build a Strong Future with Financial Counseling Certification Training
Thanks to funding from the Michigan Credit Union Foundation (MCUF), the National Credit Union Foundation’s Enhanced Financial Counseling Training Program is coming to Michigan again. This program assist participants in becoming CUNA Certified Credit Union Financial Counselors. Registration is open until April 6 for this unique financial counseling training program, which combines the lower cost and convenience of a self-study program with the group hands-on learning of a live CUNA school.
The enhanced program provides credit union staff with the skills and knowledge to guide members in increasing their financial capability and becoming more productive and loyal credit union members. These skills can be utilized in all member service interactions, including account management, lending, collections and financial education.
The program utilizes CUNA’s Financial Counseling Certification Program curriculum and provides successful participants with the designation of Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor. MCUF funding brings this program to Michigan for the discounted cost of $416. In addition, a limited number of full scholarships are available to credit unions with assets of $50M or less to apply for.
