Vibe Credit Union Announces New Chief Information Officer

Vibe is happy to welcome new chief information officer, Steven Smith.

Steve joins Vibe with over 30 years of professional experience, including the last decade within the credit union industry. Steve expressed, “Vibe has a great team, driven by the desire to serve its members. I am excited and committed to bringing forth new technologies and data driven solutions to improve our members’ experiences and help them reach their financial goals.”

Chief financial officer, Brian McVeigh stated, “Steve is a great addition to our executive leadership team. It is rare to find someone with his vast expertise in IT, as well as marketing and business management. His well-rounded experience will enable Vibe to continue to provide cutting-edge technology to its members.”

This diehard sports fan currently resides with his wife in Northville where they raised their three grown children. Always on the go, you can find Steve cheering on the Detroit Lions or his alma mater, the Eastern Michigan University Eagles.

Vibe has been a part of metro Detroit history for 80 years, currently with eight full service branches and two eCenters.
 

SMFCU’s Andrea Sanchez Honored with the 2017 Young Professional Achievement Recognition Award

Saginaw Medical Federal Credit Union’s (SMFCU) Andrea Sanchez was honored with the 2017 Young Professional Achievement Recognition Award by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) on Sept. 24. The award, given to nine community leaders this year, recognizes individuals for their outstanding career and professional achievement and their contributions to others in support of social justice and equality.

Sanchez, business development specialist for SMFCU, was recognized at the 47th Annual NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet for her achievement.

“Andrea’s involvement and continual contributions to the Saginaw community is truly outstanding,” said Laura Crase, president and CEO of SMFCU. “She is an excellent asset to the area and the SMFCU team.”
