  • CUNA will host the webinar, From Budget Analysis to Spending Plan on May 25, from noon-1:30 p.m. (ET). Once a financial counselor understands a member’s current financial condition it is easier to help him/her develop a systematic plan for spending, bill-paying and saving that reduces debt. An additional purpose of counseling is to help a member understand how to use credit wisely in the future. The webinar will help staffers become comfortable with analyzing income, living expenses and debts to clarify a member's range of options for improvement. Registration is $219 for credit unions that affiliate with CUNA.
     
  • Industry Consultant Tim Harrington will be the presenter of a May 10 webinar on Redefining the Role of the Supervisory Committee in the Digital Age, being offered by the Supervisory Committee Academy. The training is designed to help the supervisory committee effectively manage the audit function and monitor the credit union’s internal controls in a world where expertise and speed are more important than ever. The discussion will include carrying out roles, providing an essential service to the credit union and making a difference for the members in the digital world. Registration is $249 for the session, which is being hosted from 1-2 p.m. (ET).
     
  • On June 15 CUNA will present a webinar entitled, Collections: Negotiation Skills and Tactics featuring Harry Strausser, a well-known industry collections expert. The training will cover the basic elements of successful negotiations and being aware of the techniques and strategies others may use to achieve more win/win outcomes. This webinar is designed to help the novice negotiator forge a winning path and the accomplished negotiator pick up some new ideas for future negotiation opportunities in the collections process. CUNA-affiliated members may register for $219; the non-member price is $438. The webinar is being held from 10-11:30 a.m. (ET).
