  • CUNA will host a Beneficial Owners Rule webinar on May 10 from noon–1 p.m. (ET). BSA/AML compliance has always been a priority when it comes to credit union compliance. Starting in May 2018, credit unions will be required to enhance their practices when it comes to member due diligence for higher risk members. When it comes to business members, credit unions will be required to establish in-depth procedures for identifying beneficial owners. Like most regulations, it is important to start thinking now about how this may affect how credit unions operate today. Registration is $219 for CUNA-affiliated credit unions.

  • Michigan credit union collection professionals will be exchanging ideas with industry peers and discussing how to develop an ethical, professional collections culture at the upcoming MCUL & Affiliates Collector's Training School, on May 2 at the Marriott in Troy. Tips will be shared to help find skip accounts more systematically, as well as maintain a compliant collection department. The group will also do some role play to explore collection scenarios and to develop skills to manage various situations. Registration is $169 per person, which includes continental breakfast, lunch and snacks.
