- On Sept. 6 CUNA will offer a webinar on Helping Members Understand Their Rights on Repossessions, Foreclosures and Bankruptcies. The training will examine a consumers’ motivations to pay their loans, creditor’s motivations to get paid and both parties’ biggest fears. Recognizing motivations, objections and conditions, as well as the terms of the contract will help a financial counselor determine solutions that benefit the member and the credit union. The session takes place from 2-3:30 p.m. (ET) and is priced at $219 for affiliated CUNA members.
- IRAs: Essentials and Beyond Essentials is coming to Michigan Oct. 4 & 5 at the Bavarian Inn Lodge in Frankenmuth. Day one provides essentials to give attendees a solid foundation of IRA knowledge. Day two goes beyond these essentials to build on the attendees’ knowledge of IRA basics to address some of the more complex IRA issues their credit unions may handle. Registration is $199 per person, per day. Attendees may register for one-day or two.
- CUNA will host Mortgage Loan Originator training in Lathrup Village on Oct. 18 at Michigan First CU. The session will provide compliance training for the rules issued by the CFPB pursuant to Dodd-Frank amended Regulation Z. The eight-hour MLO training is approved by the National Mortgage Licensing Association and covers federal and state law requirements that relate to the individual loan originator's origination activities. Registration is $299 for affiliated CUNA members and $598 for non-members.
