Visionary Topics for Directors at Fall Leadership Development Conference
It is easy to get bogged down in details and day-to-day operations, but the most effective leaders are those with vision, the ability to think creatively and the knowledge to take in the big picture to plan effectively.
During the Michigan Credit Union League (MCUL) & Affiliates Fall Leadership Development Conference, Sept. 16-18 at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa, credit union directors, committee members and CEOs will have access to a series of sessions focused on visionary topics.
"Be a Creative Thinker and Leader!" will be led by Renee L. Werth, MCUL vice president of education and events, and will explore how the human brain works to help and hinder in the decision making process. Attendees will leave with tools that will help them improve lateral thinking abilities (the hardest kind to master) and will work in groups to solve problems, discuss ideas and explore new concepts in becoming a creative thinker and leader.
Also slated is "Prove to the Leadership Team: The Grass Isn’t Greener Somewhere Else" with John Moreno, an executive benefits specialist for CUNA Mutual Group. He will explore the key elements of a real leadership continuity plan that will prove to top executive talent that the grass truly is greener right where they are.
Keynote speaker and Author David L. Peterson will also present a visionary topic session on "Get In or Get Out! Strategically Plan to Bank Tomorrow’s Members" that will focus on a new breed of members whose expectations are driven by Apple, Google, Amazon and PayPal. He will share insights on how to be strategically preparing for members who value good self-service over excellent in-person service.
There is still time to register and hotel rooms are being managed with a wait list at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa. Negotiated room rates for other area hotels are posted on the event website. Attendees are highly encouraged to register and secure accommodations soon.Go to main navigation
