Alliance Catholic Credit Union Gives Away $10,000 in Scholarship Awards
Alliance Catholic Credit Union (ACCU) recently selected its 25 scholarship award winners for 2016. The recipients hail from all over Southeast Michigan where they have left their mark on communities, organizations and those individuals afflicted or struggling. The $10,000 in scholarships was awarded in recognition of each of the recipient’s steadfast dedication and time commitment to making a difference in the lives of others through community service.
“Each of our extraordinary scholarship recipients have made meaningful contributions in their communities showing that positive change happens if we all pitch in and do our part to help one another,” said ACCU Chief Executive Officer Robert Grech. “Alliance Catholic is proud to award each of these community-driven students and families who have stepped up to make a difference in a profound way.”
Applicants were evaluated based on merit, community service, personal essays and leadership skills.
ACCU gave away $250 to 10 families to offset their child’s parochial education, $500 to five individuals attending 8-11 grade, seven to high school seniors and three to those currently attending college.
The annual Scholarship Program typically launches in late January. All members who are eligible are encouraged to apply. ACCU initiated the program to award students and families who are committed to making a difference in the lives of others through their service and volunteer work in their school, parish and/or community.
