Upper Peninsula credit unions can look forward to two innovative and timely training topics this May.
“Good From the Inside Out: Preventing Fraud & Embezzlement at Your Credit Union” is scheduled for Tuesday, May 17 and will delve into the hot topics of risk management and fraud prevention.
Hosted by training professional Jamie Howell, this session will incorporate two real world case studies to help credit unions understand what can happen when an employee turns dishonest. Also on the agenda: EMV, cyber security and a roundtable where attendees can get answers to their own difficult questions.
On Wednesday, May 18, “HR Basics: Juggling HR and Your ‘Real Job’” is a comprehensive day-long session that aims to prepare professionals for navigating the complex world of human resources. HR expert Lara Keathley will walk attendees through changing human resource laws, benefits best practices, hiring, firing and everything in between. Keathley will also explain how to make the most of every employee interaction and invest in talent development in order for credit unions to reap the rewards of an engaged and motivated staff.
Both sessions will be held at Terrace Bay Inn & Suites in picturesque Gladstone, conveniently located near fishing, golf and casino gaming destinations.
