Kellogg Community Federal Credit Union Supports United Way of the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo Region

Kellogg Community Federal Credit Union (KCFCU) is celebrating the many ways in which it supported the United Way of the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo Region during 2015.

For the third year in a row, KCFCU was the exclusive financial sponsor of the United Way of the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo Region’s (UWBCKR) Sweepstakes, in which one lucky winner was awarded a vehicle of their choice valued up to $30,000. Susan Schoder, a Battle Creek resident and a 25-year employee at Denso, was chosen at random from thousands of qualified donors.

“I can’t believe it. I’m awestruck,” Schoder kept repeating as dozens of coworkers congratulated her amidst a collection of new vehicles parked at the Denso facility. The vehicles came from Lakeview Ford, Henkel Automotive Group, Heritage Chevrolet and Sunshine Toyota.

KCFCU and its employees also proudly pledged $16,000 to the United Way of the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo Region. KCFCU employees contributed $8,000 in personal pledges, and the Board of KCFCU agreed to generously match the employee contributions dollar-for-dollar.

“We at KCFCU recognize that the United Way provides a lot of resources to help people who are struggling with economic hardship who live in our communities,” said Tracy Miller, CEO of KCFCU. “We feel that by supporting local charities such as the United Way, we are giving back to the communities that we serve. This has always been a priority of KCFCU, and we will continue to do so in any way we can.”

“United Way of the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo Region is fortunate to have an opportunity to partner with organizations like Kellogg Community Federal Credit Union as we work to impact meaningful change in our community,” stated Jason Horan, UWBCKR Associate Director–Corporate Relations. “KCFCU has established a culture of giving back that makes it possible for UWBCKR and our nonprofit partners to help thousands of individuals and families every year. We are grateful to everybody at KCFCU for their generous investment in United Way’s mission.”
