Community Financial CU Donates Nearly $3,000 for Middle School Mentoring Program

For the fifth year in a row, Community Financial Credit Union donated $2,900 to support the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools’ Middle School Mentoring Program: Where Everyone Belongs (WEB). In the WEB program, eighth grade students partner with sixth grade students to help them transition into middle school.

Eighth grade WEB leaders conduct lessons on team building, cooperation, and community effort. They also focus on strategies for academic success including: problem solving, goal setting and other ways to smoothly transition to the middle school environment. WEB leaders act as leaders for sixth graders throughout the school year.

"The eighth grade students in the WEB program, are equipped with skills in leadership, communication, responsibility and organization,” Liberty Middle School Counselor, Sheila Weber said. “They develop the ability to become self-confident and self-directed, making them positive role models for the younger students involved in the program.“

Community Financial Credit Union says it looks forward  to more years helping students build positive lifelong skills.
