  • The Supervisory Committee’s Role in the Exam Process  webinar will be held on Oct. 15 at 2 p.m. (ET) by consultant David Reed. The supervisory committee is considered the eyes and ears of the membership and with continued pressure on the share insurance fund every credit union should get ready for more regulatory scrutiny than ever. This session cuts through the “regulatory speak” and shows how concentrated preparation around key regulatory and operational issues can put examiners at ease and benefit the credit union. The speaker will cover the logic behind an examination, the role each committee member plays in the management and risk oversight, and educating them on their role in the examination process. Registration is $249. The webinar is part of a monthly series offered by The Supervisory Committee Academy and TEAM Resources.

  • Expanding the Loan Portfolio will be covered in an audio session, Oct. 8 from 11 a.m.-noon (ET). Across the membership, there are more opportunities to capture more loans, especially those that are financed elsewhere. The ability to expand the lending portfolio is dependent on three major factors: competitiveness in the market, lending policies and marketing messaging to engage different age groups. Marketing research and management consultant Nicolette Lemmon will share ideas to put into practice right away to start increasing lending. Registration is $169 per connection and is offered in cooperation with the Illinois CU League.
