Chamber Honors Soo Co-op CU with Philanthropic Business Award

Lynda Ellis, Soo Co-op President and CEO, and Mary Lynch director of member education, accept the F.M. Mansfield Philanthropic Business Award.

State Rep. Lee Chatfield presents a special tribute to Melissa McClendon, left, vice president of Soo Co-op CU, and Lynda Ellis, president and CEO.

Soo Co-op CU was honored with the 2014 Sault Area Chamber of Commerce F.M. Mansfield Philanthropic Business Award.

The award recognizes a chamber member business that demonstrates and contributes to the enhancement of Chippewa County through commitments of time, talent and resources. The award also looks for organizations that demonstrate community support, civic participation and charitable contribution with business practices above reproach.

In addition to this honor, Soo Co-op was given a special tribute on behalf of state Rep. Lee Chatfield, R-Levering, and Gov. Rick Snyder for the recognition of the 2014 Sault Area Chamber of Commerce F.M. Mansfield Philanthropic Business Award.

“I am just honored to be part of an organization that does what we do for the communities we serve,” said Lynda Ellis, Soo Co-op President and CEO.
