Members of Tri-Pointe Community CU Approve Genisys CU Merger

Members of Tri-Pointe Community CU in Grand Blanc voted to approve the previously announced merger with Genisys CU based out of Auburn Hills.

The merger will blend two financially sound Michigan credit unions under the Genisys CU name. The combination will result in a credit union with assets totaling more than $1.8 billion, and it will bring membership to nearly 175,000 members. The merger is expected to be official by April 1.

“We are so pleased to have the approval of the Tri-Pointe members and we look forward to providing outstanding service and new financial products to them,” Genisys President and CEO Jackie Buchanan said. “We are committed to making the transition as quick and smooth as possible for our members.”

The merger will mean upgraded services for current Tri-Pointe Community CU members including more branch locations, more online and mobile banking options and call center service.

The merger will result in Genisys CU operating a total of 29 branches, of which 26 are in Michigan. Those branches encompass Tri-Pointe locations in Fenton, Flint, Grand Blanc, Clio and Vassar.
