American 1 CEO Martha Fuerstenau Receives Pat Carlton Community Leadership Award
On April 19, American 1 Credit Union announced that CEO Martha Fuerstenau was presented the Pat Carlton Community Leadership award at the Leadership Jackson Graduation Celebration.
The Pat Carlton Community Leadership award recognizes a past Leadership Jackson graduate who has exerted outstanding work in the local Jackson community. The recipient of the award must also live, or work in the Jackson community, show continued personal and professional development, give back through volunteering and encourage others to get involved.
Fuerstenau, who has been part of American 1 since 1984, has held many leadership roles throughout her tenure and is currently serving as the chair of the Henry Ford Jackson Hospital Board.
“It is an honor to accept the Pat Carlton award.” Fuerstenau remarked. “Leadership Jackson played a significant role in sparking my passion for giving back to my local community, and I am excited to watch the next group of leaders emerge out of this powerful resource, including many of our employees from American 1.”
Fuerstenau also serves on the Enterprise Group of Jackson board as vice chair and as a board member of the Economic Development Corporation of Jackson County. Past volunteer work includes serving on the Michigan Theatre Board and the Ella Sharp Museum of Art & History Board, including President of the Board of the Ella Sharp Museum.
