AAACU Donates $4K to Thunder Bay Fire Fighters
In August, Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union (AAACU) donated $4,000 to Thunder Bay Fire Fighters Association. Thunder Bay Fire Fighters Association encompasses 17 fire departments covering four counties in Northeast Michigan.
The association is working to purchase an inflatable fire education house to be taken to schools and special events to teach fire prevention and education to children.
LeAnn Schultz presented Hanna Trelfa and Mark Hansen with a $4,000.00 check to aid in the purchase of the inflatable fire education house.
Support to organizatios like the Thunder Bay Fire Fighters Association are funded by AAACU's Community Reinvestment Fund. These funds are comprised of dollars donated back into its communities thanks to credit union members who choose to receive their monthly statements electronically.
The credit union pledged to donate $9.00 annually for each of these e-statement accounts and in 2023, AAACU will donate up to $238,000.00 back into the communities it serves.
