Focus of NCUF's October Workshop: Serving Underserved Hispanic Communities

Over 62.5 million Latinos live in the USA, which is 19% of the nation’s population. This diverse, multicultural, multiethnic group is the largest contributor to U.S. population growth, represents 40% of the U.S. workforce and controls $1.9T of purchasing power - yet, financial institutions are underserving them.

With a robust multicultural strategy, credit unions are uniquely positioned to develop culturally relevant products and services, and grow alongside their Hispanic communities in the long-term.

The National Credit Union Foundation’s Workshop 2023 is an immersive, in-person learning event held Oct. 10–13 in El Paso, Texas. Discover the long-term growth strategy on your doorstep by exploring how credit unions are uniquely positioned to serve Hispanic communities.

The event builds from the framework of the Foundation’s signature Development Education (DE) Program to help credit union leaders understand how they can better reach, engage and serve Hispanic communities to achieve long-term growth and success.

This directly ties into financial wellbeing for all in that it helps attendees think about their member demographics and to learn the steps all credit unions can take to better serve Hispanic communities across the country.
