Legislative advocacy, the Community Reinvestment Initiative (CRI) and the CU Difference Campaign make up the MCUL’s three-tiered vision for protecting credit union interests in Michigan. Through legislative advocacy, the MCUL is able to promote regulatory and legislative changes that favorably impact the industry. The CRI report demonstrates the support credit unions give their communities, which continues to justify their tax exempt status. The CU Difference Campaign promotes the credit union brand using television, radio and print materials. Each plays a key role in supporting the interests of credit unions with politicians, community leaders and the broader public.
