At 5.7 million members, Michigan credit unions touch the lives of well over half the state’s population. MCUL, together with our partners at CUNA, are creating an environment, through advocacy and education, to create a legislative and regulatory environment that allows credit unions to continue to be the trusted financial partners their members need.

After a universally tough year, Michigan credit unions proved in 2021 that there is no looking back. Our movement focused on how it can continue to give back to the community, provide financial education and, most importantly, how we can help members where they are now.
The tireless work Michigan credit unions put into providing innovative solutions for members, support for small business owners, fundraising efforts for local causes and much more has garnered significant membership gains. In 2022, the plan is to keep this momentum going — to keep growing, to keep finding members who need a trusted partner. And the best way we know how to do that is to do it the way we always have: together. The collaborative CUNA/League system is determined to spend the coming year advocating and educating in order to make headway on legislative priorities that will provide a better environment for credit unions to serve members. We hope you join us in 2022 as we continue our efforts to help credit unions grow, serve and remain strong so that together, we can make a difference in people’s lives.
