Renee Werth, Vice President of Education & Events
Renee is the vice president of MCUL & Affiliates' Education and Events group, overseeing the League's delivery of in-person conferences, schools and workshops, as well as distance learning webinars, audio and online training resources.
Her team strives to help credit unions meet the demands of today and the challenges of tomorrow, with timely, relevant and affordable professional development topics, delivered throughout the state and through the Internet.
The Education and Events group takes the lead with coordinating the MCUL & Affiliates Annual Convention and Exposition and works closely with credit union leaders and subject matter experts to facilitate quality training experiences for executives, volunteers, operational and frontline staff members.
Jordan Kingdon, Vice President of Government Affairs
Jordan is vice president of the Government Affairs Department which is comprised of Legislative Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Grassroots Advocacy, Political Action, and Compliance/Operational Support.
Jordan's team advocates for the credit union movement in Lansing and Washington, DC by working to create a better operating environment for credit unions so they can bring more benefits to their members.
The Government Affairs team partners with credit union leaders to deliver their message to legislative and regulatory leaders, ensuring the public has continued access to a robust credit union system. The team also coordinates grassroots activity throughout Michigan.
Nick Olexa, Vice President of Marketing & Communications
Nick is vice president of marketing and communications for the Michigan Credit Union League and subsidiary, CU Solutions Group. His group is responsible for the marketing and communications functions across both organizations – including the mcul.org website, publications, social media, digital communications, presentations, corporate branding and marketing materials.
Nick’s team also drives the CU Link cooperative advertising campaign, MCUL awards programs, media relations and research functions, and the communications and strategy role for education, advocacy, compliance, financial education, PAC fund-raising and the Michigan Credit Union Foundation.
Alan Augustine, Senior Vice President of Michigan Solutions
Alan Augustine is Senior Vice President of Michigan Solutions. Alan joined MCUL after serving the past 22 years at the University of Michigan Credit Union where he was CIO, responsible for technology and facilities areas. Prior experience was gained during his 11 years with the pharmaceutical giant Pfizer where he worked his way through college starting as a midnight computer operator and leading to management responsibilities.
During his career, Alan has lead several industry prominent initiatives including the first ever electronically submitted NDA (New Drug Application) to the FDA while at Pfizer, and most recently, the internally developed Virtual Branch technology for the University of Michigan Credit Union. The Virtual Branch initiative earned the CUNA technology award in 2016. Alan founded the Symitar Midwest Users Group, which became the template for the core provider’s user groups nationally.
Alan has actively contributed to credit union advocacy including sitting on the CUES Michigan Board of Directors. Alan served as a part-time faculty member for Washtenaw Community College for several years and was a member of their technology advisory committee. Alan is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University where he majored in Management within Business Administration.
Alan and his wife Eileen met in high school, and currently live in Chelsea, Michigan where they raised their three children. Alan enjoys the great outdoors; hunting, fishing and hiking. He enjoys spending time with his family and dabbles in wood carving.Go to main navigation
