Renee Werth, Vice President of Education & Events
Renee is the Vice President of Education and Events, overseeing MCUL & Affiliates' delivery of in-person conferences, schools and workshops, as well as distance learning webinars, audio and online training resources.
Her team strives to help credit unions meet the demands of today and the challenges of tomorrow, with timely, relevant and affordable professional development topics, delivered throughout the state and through the Internet.
The Education and Events group takes the lead with coordinating the MCUL & Affiliates Annual Convention and Exposition and works closely with credit union leaders and subject matter experts to facilitate quality training experiences for executives, volunteers, operational and frontline staff members.
Jordan Kingdon, Vice President of Government Affairs
Jordan is the Vice President of Government Affairs, which is comprised of Legislative Affairs, Grassroots Advocacy and Political Action.
Jordan's team advocates for the credit union movement in Lansing and Washington, DC by working to create a better operating environment for credit unions so they can bring more benefits to their members.
The Government Affairs team partners with credit union leaders to deliver their message to legislative and regulatory leaders, ensuring the public has continued access to a robust credit union system. The team also coordinates grassroots activity throughout Michigan.
Nick Olexa, Vice President of Marketing & Communications
Nick is the Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the Michigan Credit Union League and subsidiary, CU Solutions Group. His group is responsible for the marketing and communications functions across both organizations – including the mcul.org website, publications, social media, digital communications, presentations, corporate branding and marketing materials.
Nick’s team also drives the CU Link cooperative advertising campaign, MCUL awards programs, media relations and research functions, and the communications and strategy role for education, advocacy, compliance, financial education, PAC fund-raising and the Michigan Credit Union Foundation.
Sarah Stevenson, Director of Regulatory Affairs
Sarah is the Director of Regulatory Affairs for MCUL & Affiliates, overseeing regulatory initiatives and the League's compliance helpline.
She and her team review proposed rules from the various governing regulatory agencies, assessing the impact to Michigan’s credit unions and advocating for change at the state and federal level. The team also assists credit unions with compliance through the compliance helpline and Destination Compliance in order to help credit unions manage through regulatory and compliance burden.
The regulatory affairs department also works closely with credit union leaders to deliver strong messaging to state and federal regulators. Additionally, the team collaborates with the government affairs team on key issues impacting credit unions at the state and federal level.
