We’ve talked a lot over the past couple months about how busy
we’ve been, and now it’s time for you to see just what we’ve
been working on. Our Annual Convention and Exposition (AC&E),
coming to Grand Rapids June 7–10, will showcase how we are
charging forward in 2017 and 2018. We’ll be unveiling a host of
exciting new opportunities from the Michigan Credit Union
League (MCUL) and CU Solutions Group® that spearhead
that charge.
The heart of our movement hasn’t changed, and neither have
we. The announcements primed for my keynote presentation
at this year’s AC&E show that, even as things change, MCUL
is committed to helping credit unions serve, grow and
remain strong.
Also delivering a keynote during the convention is the president contributors and services that are making an impact across
and CEO of PayPal, Dan Schulman, who will offer his perspective
on the importance of democratizing mobile payments.
Veronika Scott, founder and CEO of The Empowerment Plan,
will also be there to share her message of “Empowerment
through Employment.”
Last year, we hosted AC&E in Detroit, and this year marks a
change in scenery. The nightlife and downtown attractions of
Grand Rapids is always a big draw for AC&E attendees, but it’s
not just a beautiful city. Grand Rapids houses more than a dozen
credit unions with a rich history of service to the community.
Quality of life is a big part of the credit union movement.
Whether it comes in the form of financial education and
preparedness, helping a family move into a better home or
providing access to loans that help new businesses get their
start, credit unions provide communities with trustworthy
options and guidance. MCUL is proud of the role credit unions
have played in the revitalization of a burgeoning metropolis
like Grand Rapids.
This issue of Contact offers you a glimpse of what we have
planned for AC&E this year, and highlights the important
the state. As we look forward to great things ahead, I hope
to see you in Grand Rapids this June.
