How to get involved with CRI

The significance of the credit union social mission has never been more important for preserving the credit union tax exemption and assuring a positive legislative climate.

You can help preserve the credit union tax exempt status by supporting the CRI initiative. Here are three ways:

  • Complete your CRI questionnaire. By doing so you provide the MCUL valuable data – evidence – that can be used to show lawmakers and other key audiences how credit unions are fulfilling their social mission.
  • Make a commitment to include “social mission” activities in your strategic and operational planning.
  • Designate someone from your credit union to be involved in the CRI project either by participating in one of the CRI/Future Vision Committee Councils and Working Groups or by simply being a champion for the project at your credit union. To find out how to become part of a CRI/Future Vision Committee Councils and Working Group, contact CRI Coordinator Judith Gardi at jag@mcul.org.
  • Make a difference – share a story. Tell us about your community work by submitting a story to us. We could use it in the Monitor or put it on the website. Send to Bryan Dahl at bmd@mcul.org.
  • Send us some photos of the good work you are involved in with your community. Send them to Bryan Dahl at bmd@mcul.org.
