The charge: Research, develop and implement new programs that will assist credit unions individually and collectively respond to current economic challenges affecting consumers. Gather examples of best practices by individual credit unions that demonstrate credit unions commitment to offering these and other solutions.
Join the Financial Education Council to work on providing financial education resources to Michigan credit unions and working to ensure the financial education efforts of Michigan credit unions are tracked. The charge: Foster and highlight consumer financial education activities by credit unions for their members and the communities they serve. Expand industry commitment to financial education by assisting credit unions with adult and youth educational resources and program implementation.
Join the Modest Means Council to assist Michigan credit unions in better serving members of modest means and the unbanked. The charge; Develop and implement expansion of cooperative credit union programs that focus on lower income demographics and the unbanked. Coordinate efforts and showcase best practices with low-income designated and community development credit unions.
