Michigan credit union volunteers and staff are awarded nearly 250 scholarships totaling an average of $60,000 in educational grants each year through the generosity of their colleagues.

Applicants from credit unions $50 million and under in assets are automatically approved for $1,000 per year toward professional development education; requests of special circumstances beyond that amount and by applicants from credit unions over $50 million in assets are submitted for review to MCUF Trustees. Scholarships are given for MCUL & Affiliates, CMG, chapter, Michigan CUES Council and CUNA-sponsored educational events including conferences, seminars, workshops, independent study programs, chapter programs and the MCUL Annual Convention & Exposition.

Note: Total MCUF scholarship funding is limited. SAS educational scholarships will be provided annually up to $1,000 per SAS credit union only as funds are available on a first come basis.

Additional scholarships are awarded for Michigan credit union professionals to attend CUNA Management School (CMS).  CMS scholarships are awarded annually to encourage the development of professionals committed to serving the Credit Union System.

“I greatly appreciate your assistance with all of my scholarship requests. My three years at CUNA Management School provided me with the financial and leadership skills that will help me succeed in any task I am assigned at my credit union. Without your assistance, I would not have been able to attain this degree.”
