CRI Programs and Initiatives
The MCUL, through the Community Reinvestment Initiative, offers turnkey solutions for credit unions to implement products and services for those consumers using high cost alternative financial services such as payday lenders, check cash providers and tax filing services. CRI products and services offered are tailored to save the consumer money and at the same time provide an opportunity for the consumer to learn how to begin to build personal wealth through credit union financial education and counseling.
Free income tax preparation resources for those who need it the most. The Michigan Credit Union League partners with the iCan program to provide a free online tax preparation service for credit union members and non-members. Credit Unions simply add the Just File It! link to their homepage.
