Improve Collections Effectiveness with Improved Telephone Calling Skills & Compliance Know-How
Harry Strausser III returns by popular request at the 2012 Telephone Collection School to deliver an even more operationally focused presentation than last year. In addition, MCUL & Affiliates will host attorney David Wolfe at the session, who will specifically discuss compliance issues collectors need to know. This year the well-known event heads to Weber's Inn in Ann Arbor, on Nov. 8 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Priced at just $169 per person, the program is designed to offer an overview of the components of the collection process that are critical to every credit union. Participants will engage in an interactive session designed to enlighten attendees on the challenges faced when loans go into default. Strategies will be reviewed and techniques will be offered to help every collection professional increase their recoveries while reducing delinquencies. It is Reg Update time, with the year's second webinar dealing with hot topics and important issues that CUs need to keep on the radar. The webinar takes place Oct. 30 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and will include these federal agenda items: remittance transfers, Servicemembers Civil Relief Act, credit cards (the required change-in-terms notice for amending the Fed box to say the CFPB instead of the FRB), multi-featured lending products, expanded definition of “rural district” for FOM applications and upcoming mortgage proposals. State topics will include: small claims law, OFIR letter regarding indirect lending fees and new CUSO authority (venture capital investments).
