CU Trainers, Supervisors and HR Professionals Head to League Institute Event
Three outstanding event agendas will combine to make one fabulous event this fall, when the MCUL & Affiliates 2012 HR, Trainer and Supervisors Institute is presented in Grand Rapids at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel on Sept. 25-26. Designed to support the unique day-to-day issues and challenges faced by "credit union people who work closely with other credit union people," the popular conference delivers plenty of answers, solutions, resources and tools. Attendees from each of the three training institutes will join together for keynote and general sessions, including: "Growing Your Influence Upstream and Downstream" with organizational communication consultant Jackson Hataway; "Life's All About Plan B" with personal empowerment coach Melissa Boyce and "Zap the Gap!" with multi-generational expert and author Meagan Johnson. The conference takes place during the world-famous "Art Prize" event presented in the city of Grand Rapids and attendees will have a fun opportunity to engage in their own creative endeavors through a special credit union artistic challenge. The ABCs of IRAs: Essentials and Beyond Essentials Training Offered in Frankenmuth and Marquette
This fall, Michigan credit union professionals will find IRA training taking place Oct. 2-3 at the Bavarian Inn Lodge in Frankenmuth and again Oct. 16-17 at the Holiday Inn in Marquette. Both sessions will be facilitated by IRA training consultants from Ascensus. The first day of training provides IRA essentials and gives attendees a solid foundation of IRA knowledge. Exercises are included throughout the day to help participants apply information to job-related situations. Attendees will leave the day being able to work with IRA owners and process basic IRA transactions with confidence. This is a beginner’s session; no previous IRA knowledge is assumed. The second day of training provides IRA advanced topics, building on the attendees’ knowledge of IRA basics to address some of the more complex IRA issues their credit unions may handle. The instructors use real-world exercises to help participants apply information to job-related situations.
Attendees may choose to attend one- or both-days of training, which is priced at $199 per person, per day. Click here to learn more or to register for the Frankenmuth session; for details or to register for the Marquette event, click here.
Find Tools and Rules for Improving Collections in Webinar Series
Once again, Michigan credit unions have spoken and MCUL & Affiliates has delivered, this time with a series of Collections webinars developed at the beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Feedback from a survey conducted about educational training needs indicated that Michigan credit unions continue to want to improve their collections processes, while still serving the financial needs of their members, but that current (and future) collection's staff already possess a wide-variety of experience. The series of webinar sessions are designed to be enjoyed individually, or in a set of 2- or 3-topics, based on the needs of staff. Each webinar includes a complimentary Webinar on Demand archive, that may be downloaded, saved and shared, allowing a credit union to train an unlimited number of staffers, in multiple locations, as often as needed all for the price of just $129 per webinar topic. The beginner session takes place Oct. 4, the intermediate session on Oct. 12 and the advanced session on Oct. 18. Those who participate in the live sessions are encouraged to bring their questions and challenges, and to dialogue with the speaker and peers who also join-in on the webinars. The collection series qualifies as part of the league's offer to buy three compliance webinars and receive 50% off a fourth compliance webinar topic. After the date of each webinar, the recorded archives will be available for $129 each as a Webinar on Demand here.
