Outstanding Speakers

David Adams
David is CEO of the Michigan Credit Union League & Affiliates and also provides management services for HR Value Group and League InfoSight. During his credit union career, Dave has held numerous board seats and committee assignments. A native of Utah, he holds a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Utah and a master's in business administration from Utah State University.
  Josh Allison
Josh is the founder and chief ideator for Think Café, a credit union consulting company and serves as relationship development manager for Horizon Credit Union. He lives in Spokane, Washington and has been the recipient of the the inaugural Bizkid$ Champion Recognition (2011), the WCUL Desjardin Award (2010), WCUL Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Award (2009) and other prestigious honors.
Alice Alvey, CMB
Alice is president and co-owner of Mortgage U, Inc. in Farmington Hills, Michigan, and provides consulting and training to over 100 companies nationally per year on mortgage compliance and operations, as well as conventional and government lending. She earned the master certified mortgage banker designation established by the Mortgage Bankers Association of America and is author of the FHA and VA Practical Guides.
  Mark Arnold
Mark lectures regularly to audiences around the country on branding, marketing, strategy, leadership, personal growth and generational issues. He is the author of Think Huge: How To Elevate Your Life and Your Business, My Best Service Ever and Marketing Across the Generations: Gen. Mark is also president of On the Mark Strategies, a consulting firm specializing in branding and strategic planning.
Michael Bell
Michael is an attorney that concentrates his practice on real estate development, finance, corporate law and community banking. He represents individuals, developers, and businesses, and works with community banks and credit unions through performance of loan documentation and review, workout and foreclosure services, human resource services and contract review and negotiation.

Jeff Benson, CPA
Jeff is the president/CEO of CASE Credit Union and possesses a proven track record of success and the ability to implement positive change. He strongly believes in the credit union movement and is very involved in the Lansing community. Jeff has 21 years of leadership, management and operations experience. He received his undergraduate degree and master's of business administration from Michigan State University.


Pierre Cardenas
Pierre has 26 years experience in the financial industry and has held executive level positions in organizations as large as a billion in assets.
He has been consulting, training and presenting for the financial industry since 2008. His experience uses technology to streamline processes and provide insight to trends in the industry, a future look at what could be and how an organization can position themselves for position advantage.

Bill Clancy
Bill is the vice president of retail strategy at Lake Michigan Credit Union in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He oversees project management, product development and process optimization for member facing delivery channels including branch, call center and online. Bill has a bachelor's of arts in finance and business economics from the University of Notre Dame and a master's of business administration from Grand Valley State University.
  Steve Cobb, CPA
Steve has been president/CEO of EECU - A Community Credit Union in Jackson since 2006. Previously he was chief financial officer of Kellogg Community Federal Credit Union in Battle Creek and prior to that worked as a finance manager with the Kellogg Company. Steve is a certified public accountant having worked for Price Waterhouse after receiving his bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University.
Linda Daichendt
Linda is the CEO of Strategic Growth Concepts and is an accomplished marketer and award-winning blogger on the use of new media in growing a business. She has comprehensive knowledge of the mobile industry, including retail and consumer use trends, mobile technology development and growth, mobile technology use in a business environment, mobile marketing and advertising, and relationships with mobile industry leaders.
  Jonathan Fuhrman
Jonathan has a strong background in developing and executing marketing solutions that deliver measurable results. As a marketing consultant with CU Solutions Group, he guides efforts to deliver cutting edge social media strategies to credit unions and is leading the 2012 CU Difference social media efforts. Jonathan holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and master’s degree in integrated marketing communications.
  James Hogle
James is nationally recognized as the “credit expert” author and speaker, and is the executive director of US Consumer Credit Restoration Association, LLC. With over 15 years of experience he specializes in working with “credit challenged buyers” to achieve home ownership and developed the "Get Mortgage Ready" program to assist those with financial hardship to get their credit scores "back on track".
Diane Knudson
Diane is the director of marketing consulting with CU Solutions Group. She possesses a strong corporate marketing strategy background and advises credit unions on how to best develop, implement and launch their campaigns. She manages the popular site LoveMyCreditUnion.org and its social media endeavors, in addition to client websites and is the resident search engine optimization expert. Diane has a bachelor’s degree in international relations and a master’s in organizational management.
Lisa Rizk
Lisa is vice president of member enhancements & sales for CU Solutions Group managing national sales and marketing activities for various divisions, partners and products, and working closely with CUcorp’s business partners. She possesses over 20 years of experience in the credit union industry and a master's of business administration from Davenport University, as well as a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Central Michigan University.
Beth Troost
Beth is the executive director of the Michigan Credit Union Foundation and the financial education coordinator for the Michigan Credit Union League & Affiliates. She helps to coordinate state-wide initiatives for financial education and provides free assistance and resource referrals to individual credit unions wishing to participate in or highlight financial education activities. Beth possesses CUDE and CCUFC designations.
  Shawn Wolbert
Shawn is a compliance consultant for the Michigan Credit Union League & Affiliates. She helps credit unions respond to the growing regulatory burdens by providing information, education and assistance services.  Shawn is a certified internal auditor and NAFCU certified compliance officer with over ten years of experience in the financial services industry.
