CUBE TV to Provide Daily Coverage of CUNA GAC   (Misc News: March 16, 2012)

CUBE TV, the official video portal of MCUL & Affiliates, will once again provide a daily wrap-up of the highlights and happenings from the 2012 CUNA GAC in Washington.

The short videos will offer summaries of the events of each day and a behind-the-scenes look at visits with Michigan’s congressional delegation.

Whether you are among the more than 130 Michigan credit union professionals who will be in Washington for the conference, or watching from home, CUBE TV’s “Live from the CUNA GAC” coverage offers an inside perspective of the major events as well as interviews with industry leaders.

This year’s GAC will feature keynote addresses from former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice as well as acclaimed national journalists Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein of Watergate fame.

Richard Cordray, the newly named head of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, is also scheduled to speak, along with NCUA Board Member Gigi Hyland. Attendees will get the latest information on key credit union legislative issues like the member business lending initiative, and get an overall industry update from CUNA President/CEO Bill Cheney.

Another highlight of the week will come Monday night, when MCUL & Affiliates CEO David Adams joins executives from General Motors and Sprint to receive the Herb Wegner Memorial Award. Invest in America, the program which provides credit union members with exclusive discounts from American companies, was selected as this year’s Outstanding Program. A special video highlighting the development and growth of Invest in America will be played at a formal dinner where the awards are presented.

The daily “Live from the CUNA GAC” segments will be posted on MCUL’s Facebook page as well as on CUBE TV. You can also watch the MCUL homepage for updates.
