Nomination Period Extended for MCUL/MCUF Awards, Scholarship Prizes Added (Misc News: March 2, 2012)
Hard-working credit union professionals who are nominated by their peers will be honored in a new way this year.
MCUL & Affiliates has added a new prize to three of this year’s awards. The winners of the Distinguished Service Award, the Credit Union Professional of the Year Award and the Credit Union of the Year Award will each receive a $5000 scholarship for a Michigan college or university to designate to a recipient of his/her choice, or a donation to a charitable organization of the winner’s choosing.
MCUL & Affiliates CEO David Adams said he hopes the new prizes will serve as a small token of appreciation for the winners’ dedication and service. “The MCUL’s major awards have always been a great way to recognize the outstanding levels of service provided by Michigan’s credit unions,” Adams said. “Now, with the scholarships that will accompany these recognitions, the recipients will be further honored by being able to extend their credit union service accomplishments in a way that benefits young people in their pursuit of higher education. This new feature should also serve as another great incentive to nominate deserving recipients for these three important awards.”
In light of the addition of these scholarships, the deadline for nominations has been extended to March 23.
