Six Credit Unions Make Detroit Free Press Top Workplaces List (Misc News: November 18, 2011)
Employee satisfaction, work-life balance and the potential for strong growth: those are some of the terms that are being used to describe this year’s Detroit Free Press Top Workplaces, a list which includes six Michigan credit unions.
The annual ranking honors 100 employers based on a survey which gathers and analyzes employees’ opinions on a range of topics, including pay and benefits, working conditions and the general direction in which a company is headed. The survey is designed and conducted by WorkplaceDynamics of Exton, Pa.
Companies are divided into different categories based on the employers’ size. Four credit unions were honored among the 35 top “Midsize” companies selected: MSU FCU, DFCU Financial, Michigan First CU and Genisys CU; E&A CU was among the 40 “Small” companies selected; and Community Choice CU was honored in a new category called “National Standard.” The Free Press says the 32 National Standard companies did not score high enough to make the list of top 100 workplaces, but did meet the standards of a national benchmark.
All the companies and organizations selected for this year’s Top Workplaces list were honored at a recent breakfast ceremony at Laurel Manor Banquet & Conference Center in Livonia.
