It’s AC&E Week: Head to Grand Rapids This Week for Outstanding Training, Networking and More   (Misc News: May 9, 2011)

Thinking about ways to increase noninterest income? Wondering how small business loans could be critical to credit unions? Looking for advanced public relation tactics to build better media relations?

Then head to Grand Rapids this week, Thursday-Saturday, May 12-14, to attend the MCUL & Affiliates Annual Convention and Exposition. Industry experts from across the country will present on all of these topics plus more than 40 sessions on timely credit union-related issues.

One-day registration for Thursday or Friday is just $150 per person and those not yet registered may register on-site, on the second floor center concourse of the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel.

The convention begins with a bang when special guest Gov. Rick Snyder speaks on Thursday.

Stephen J. Dubner, co-author of the New York Times best sellers "Freakonomics" and "Super Freakonomics," will deliver the keynote presentation on Friday, May 13, followed by NCUA Chair Debbie Matz.

Other noted speakers include MCUL & Affiliates CEO David Adams, OFIR Deputy Commissioner John Kolhoff, expert demographer Ken Gronbach, public relations specialist Anthony Huey, life manager Dr. Lawana Gladney, young adult authority Brent Dixon and many well-known credit union experts including Rory Rowland, Frank Diekmann, Frank Drake, Mary Lou Heighs, Jim Fournier, Jeff Rendel, Tom Leduc, Ann Jones, Mike Moyes, Brandon Trenz, Lisa Rizk, Beth Troost, Chuck Holzman and others.

The AC&E provides an outstanding value in training for credit union staff, management and volunteers and is particularly affordable for those who are close enough to commute to the conference for one-day. The conference provides plenty of opportunities for networking and exchanging ideas with peers from across the state. To see the complete event schedule and learn more, click here.
