Randy Richardville Elected Senate Majority Leader   (Misc News: November 9, 2010)

As most observers expected, state Sen. Randy Richardville, R-Monroe, was unanimously elected as the new Senate majority leader by his Republican colleagues. Richardville, who is the MCUL’s Legislator of the Year, takes the reins when the next Legislature takes office in January.

“I can’t tell you how humbling it is to have earned the trust and been elected the leader of this amazing caucus of talented men and women, all of whom are dedicated to people over politics – and putting Michigan on the right track to economic prosperity and job expansion,” said Senate Majority Leader-elect Richardville, R-Monroe.

“We expect our first 100 days to be very ambitious. Through our outstanding leadership and committee chairs, we will work closely with the next administration, the House, as well as our colleagues across the aisle to put aside politics and together, make Michigan work again.

Senate Republicans also elected the following officers:
Assistant Majority Leader: Dave Hildenbrand, R-Lowell
Majority Floor Leader: Arlan Meekhof, R-West Olive
Assistant Majority Floor Leader: Phil Pavlov, R-St. Clair
