Credit Unions Can Help Get Out Vote for Tuesday's Election (Misc News: November 1, 2010)
The 2010 General Election is today, and Michigan voters will select a new governor, secretary of state, and attorney general. In addition, all 15 congressional seats, 38 state Senate seats and 110 State House of Representative seats are up for consideration. The MCUL & Affiliates has added “Get Out the Vote” posters to the Campaigns & Elections portion of the MCUL Web page. Credit unions are encouraged to print off the posters and place them in their lobby as a reminder for members to make their voices heard on Election Day.
All of the MCULAF Board of Trustees endorsements, including Rick Snyder for governor, the U.S. House, state House, and state Senate, can be found by clicking on the “Election 2010” banner on the MCUL homepage. Please note - you will need your MCUL login and password to access this page.
"As credit union members, we need to make sure that the credit union vote counts. This year, 44 percent of registered voters are credit union members," said Marcia Hune, MCUL's vice president for legislative affairs. "How many credit union members will vote in 2010? If credit union members don’t vote, credit unions don’t count. It’s time to be counted and help Get Out The Vote."
