Registration Open for 2010 Hike the Hill (Monitor: May 10, 2010)
Credit unions can now sign up to attend the 2010 Hike the Hill event taking place in Washington, D.C. June 9 – 10. Hike the Hill gives attendees a chance to speak with members of Michigan’s congressional delegation and their staff on key credit union issues, which this year include items like interchange fees, Community Reinvestment Act expansion, member business lending and regulatory restructuring.
Full registration information is available on the MCUL website. In addition to the Hill visits, this year’s agenda includes a lunch with NCUA Executive Director David Marquis, a federal legislative issues briefing at CUNA headquarters, and a reception for Michigan participants at the Credit Union House.
There is no registration fee for Hike the Hill, and a few CURE scholarships (PDF) are still available for other expenses. Hotel rooms have been reserved for attendees at the Embassy Suites Hotel at a reduced rate until May 18; after this date, reservations will be accepted on a space and rate available basis.
