Pete Hoekstra Signs On to Business Lending Bill (Monitor: March 29, 2010)
Congressman Pete Hoekstra, R-Holland, has signed on as a co-sponsor of the Promoting Lending for America's Small Businesses Act, which would raise the credit union business lending cap to 25 percent of assets. Hoekstra joins U.S. Reps. Carolyn
Cheeks Kilpatrick, D-Detroit, Vern Ehlers, R-Grand Rapids, Candice Miller, R-Harrison Twp., Gary Peters, D-Bloomfield Hills, Bart Stupak, D-Menominee, Dale Kildee, D-Flint, and Mark Schauer, D-Battle Creek, in his support of the bill. There are now a total of 104 co-sponsors for the bill nationwide.
Credit unions in the districts of the Michigan congressmen who have yet to sign on to the bill as a co-sponsor are urged to contact these representatives via the CapWiz tool. The congressmen include Dave Camp, R-Midland, John Conyers, D-Detroit, John Dingell, D-Dearborn, Sander Levin, D-Royal Oak, Thaddeus McCotter, R-Livonia, and Mike Rogers, R-Brighton.
