Equifax Data Breach Response Kit Now Available
As you surely know, Equifax’s data system was breached from mid-May through July 2017. Hackers got the names, Social Security numbers, addresses and personal data of 143 million Americans. That’s 44 percent of the total U.S. population and 57 percent of U.S. adults 18 years and older. This is far worse than the average data breach.
At the following link, you will find a credit union response kit to the recent Equifax data breach.
Based on popular request by MCUL member-credit unions, this kit includes content and tips for both internal and external use including:
- Member-facing article (for use in newsletter, email, blog, etc.)
- Member-facing FAQs (long-form content for digital or print)
- Considerations for credit union management
- Tips for frontline staff
- CUNA’s Q&A for the Equifax breach
- CUNA’s recorded webinar
