Responding to Subpoenas, Garnishes & Levies Audio Session Taking Place July 2

A ruling on the garnishment of accounts containing federal benefit payments has recently been finalized with an effective date of June 28 and an audio session addressing the changes is set for July 2, from 11 a.m. to noon (ET).

The Responding to Subpoenas, Garnishes & Levies audio session was originally scheduled for September, but was moved to the new date in response to the ruling. An interim rule which established procedures that financial institutions have had to follow when they receive a garnishment order for an account holder has been in effect since May 1, 2011, but the final rule makes several revisions to the interim rule, including the definition of “garnishment order” which has been revised to include orders or levies issued by a State or State agency or municipality.

The audio session is being offered in cooperation with the Illinois CU League and is priced at just $129 per connection which includes a 60 day archive access. To learn more about the event or to register, click here.
