...Those interested in attending the MCUL & Affiliates 2013 Collector's Training School, set for May 8 in cooperation with the Collection Consortium, may call the league at (800) 262-6285, ext. 225, to register. The popular event heads to The Inn at St. John's in Plymouth and features selected speaker Karin Brown, vice president of lending at Lending Solutions Consulting Inc. who will discuss delinquency predictions for 2013, the necessity for change due to current market conditions and more.

...A Bankruptcy audio session will take place May 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (EST) with author and consultant David Reed as facilitator. Delivered in cooperation With the Illinois CU League, the session will examine the current state of consumer bankruptcy and how it continues to impact credit unions. It will focus on the nuts and bolts of an effective bankruptcy recovery and loss reduction program. The session is priced at just $169 per connection. ...Credit unions looking for information about Unclaimed Property Audit Preparedness will be able to tune in to an audio session on May 14, from 11 a.m. to noon (EST), to learn about the important topic. Failing to comply with state unclaimed property laws can be costly for credit unions under audit, and not reporting dormant checking accounts, safe deposit boxes, un-cashed checks, credit balances and loan overpayments can result in audits and stiff penalties.
