CUBE TV Update

CUBE TV is the MCUL's online video portal, with regular updates of topics and information for CUs:

CU National Update: For the week of Jan. 14, CUBE TV’s Mona Shand explains why CUNA is calling for the CFPB to do more than just understand the credit union difference. Also, hear how you can ask the agency’s director questions about new regulations, and find out what major milestone the nation’s premier credit union member rewards program recently hit.

Michigan Priority Report: Another successful quarter for Michigan credit unions is in the books. As MCUL CEO David Adams explains in his Michigan Priority Report for December, the numbers show strong evidence of not just the continued growth of credit unions, but a marked shift away from banks as more consumers seek out the credit union difference.

CU Compliance Connection: December 2012: Expedited Funds Availability Act provides credit union employees with important information on requirements for making deposited items available to members in a timely manner. Join us for an overview of check holds and member notification.

Special Reports: The 2012 Grand Raffle campaign to benefit the MCUL Federal PAC, MCULLAF, sold over 40,000 tickets, raising over $200,000 through 144 participating credit unions - a new record for the campaign! This year's winning ticket (No. 44273) was sold by Lake Michigan CU in Grand Rapids, to member Deanna W. of Kentwood.

CUs in the News: Michigan credit unions recently awarded the grand prize of the 2012 “Own Your Money” sweepstakes to Lynn Ylitalo of Champion. The longtime Ishpeming Community FCU member was overjoyed to receive the prize she called “life-changing.” General Manager George Isola was equally thrilled to be able to present the grand prize check to one of his members. Ylitalo was one of 32,000 who entered the sweepstakes hosted by www.creditunionlink.org.
