With just three weeks to go in the nomination period, the time is now for members of the credit union community to submit nominations for the 2013 MCUL and Michigan CU Foundation Awards. All nominations must be received by the close of business on Jan. 25.
There are several different categories of awards, offering the opportunity to honor a wide range of credit union professionals, from those just beginning in the industry to seasoned veterans. Anyone in the Michigan credit union community can submit a nomination.
The categories are: Credit Union Professional of the Year, Distinguished Service Award, Outstanding Credit Union of the Year Award, MCUL Chapter Effectiveness Award, Young Professional of the Year Award, Credit Union Youth Advocate of the Year, Award for Excellence in Consumer Education, Credit Union Community Volunteer, and the International Credit Union Development Award.
The winners of the Credit Union Professional of the Year, Distinguished Service, and Outstanding Credit Union of the Year Awards will each receive a $5000 scholarship to a Michigan college or university to designate to a student of his or her choosing, or a donation to a Michigan-based charity of choice.
A full description of the different awards and the associated criteria is available here.
The winner of the MCUF’s Credit Union Community Volunteer Award will have the honor of selecting a Michigan college student to receive the Foundation’s $5,000 Woodman-Wilde Memorial Scholarship.
