Registration is now open for the 2013 Spring Leadership Development Conference that features a top-notch agenda of topics that is expected to draw very strong attendance from credit union volunteers and CEOs.
Well-known financial industry consultant Tim Harrington will be on hand to deliver a keynote titled, "Are You a Credit Union of the Future?" Harrington will be joined by a panel of three Michigan credit union professionals, including Vicki Schmitzer, CEO of Frankenmuth CU, Dana Tell, marketing manager at Team One CU and Michael Poulos, president/CEO from Michigan First CU. Harrington will also deliver two breakout sessions at the conference, "Putting the Credit Back into Credit Unions" and "Leadership and Succession Planning for the Board" – all sessions that were chosen based on feedback from attendees at the Fall Leadership Development Conference.
Other important topics such as "Consumer Financial Protection Bureau" sessions and a "CFPB Roundtable for CEOs" are expected to be popular, and attendees will find sessions on "Sssstrategies for Marketing Ssssuccess," "Improving Board Meetings Through Advocacy and Inquiry," "What Does Membership Growth Have to Do With Google Analytics?", "Compliance Update," "Director Duties and Responsibilities" and a closing session on "Bank Secrecy Act for Board Members".
Three CUNA Volunteer Achievement Program sessions are slated as breakout session choices and attendees may also select optional training on Saturday afternoon related to "ALM," "Handling Difficult Conversations" and a prep class that requires no testing on "The Supervisory Committee’s Role in Due Diligence (VAP 303)".
The Spring Leadership Development Conference will once again be at the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort in Mount Pleasant. The event takes place March 15-17 and will feature a specially themed St. Patrick's Day dinner banquet, complete with Celtic dancers.
