Michigan Credit Union Foundation Scholarships and Grants

According to the MCUF Governance Manual, all scholarships and grants are approved by the Executive Director unless otherwise noted in the chart below.

Educational scholarship

Credit union staff of any SAS under $35 million

Directly on MCUL Education event registration form

CUNA – on CUNA registration form with copy to MCUF

CUES – directly to MCUF with letter or email

CUNA Educational Program Registration Fees

CUES Educational Events, registration fees

Directly to MCUL by MCUF

Bills for other educational activities will be paid first by the credit union. The bill and paid receipt is sent to MCUF for reimbursement.

$500 educational scholarship available with MCUF Board approval for credit unions facing hardship with Board notification of action taken

Larger credit unions applying for scholarships must be approved by MCUF Trustees

CUNA Management School – Scholarship

Supported by: Ebaugh-Lesniki Memorial Fund
Vanderveen Memorial Fund

1st, 2nd and 3rd year students who have 2 years of full time credit union service (no credit union asset restrictions)

Separate application – comes with mailing to CEO about CUNA Management School

Reimbursement for CUNA Management School Tuition

Bills for CUNA Management school are paid by the participant. The bill and paid receipt are sent to MCUL for reimbursement.

$2,000 Operational Grants

Credit unions $35 million in assets and under.

Letter of request or e-mail to MCUF Executive Director

Operation-related expenses such as upgrades in technology-based products and office equipment.

Approved  activity paid upon receipt of request for reimbursement by MCUF

$2,000 Community Reinvestment Initiative Grants

Any credit union

Complete online CRI Grant application must be submitted for MCUF Trustee approval

Any community-based activity which provides for outreach and engagement and involves serving the community with an emphasis on financial education efforts

Directly to the credit union upon receipt of billing for CRI related expenses
