The Michigan Credit Union League (MCUL) Hike the Hill is an important grassroots program to provide credit unions with the opportunity to visit Washington to educate decision makers on credit union issues. When credit unions participate in Hike the Hill, they continue to tell their story to lawmakers and weigh in on important issues that impact them.

2011 Hike the Hill Recap
The 2011 MCUL Hike the Hill was held June 15-16 in Washington D.C. Nearly 30 credit union officials from across Michigan were in attendance, and all 17 members of Michigan’s Congressional Delegation were visited during Hill Visits. The event opened with a welcome luncheon featuring NCUA Board Member Gigi Hyland in the Caucus Room Restaurant. On Wednesday evening, registrants attended a reception at Credit Union House. CUNA provided attendees with a federal legislative briefing on issues with a particular focus on the impending final rule by the Federal Reserve on the Debit Card Interchange issue as well as increasing the CU Member Business Lending Cap.
