Outstanding Facilitators

David Adams
Dave is president and CEO of the Michigan Credit Union League and Affiliates, CU Solutions Group and CU Village.com and also provides management services for HR Value Group and League InfoSight. During his credit union career, Dave has held numerous board seats and committee assignments including work for the American Association of Credit Union Leagues and the Credit Union National Association. A native of Utah, he holds a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Utah and a master's in business administration from Utah State University. 

Ronald W. Boehnlein
As the chief financial officer of Central Corporate Credit Union, Ron has an extensive and diverse background in management, accounting and finance. Ron’s credit union experience spans over 30 years and includes positions as CFO, auditor and consultant.  He has a master’s degree in finance, a bachelor’s degree in accountancy and is a certified public accountant.

Galina Britton
Galina is the economics and research manager for the Michigan Credit Union League. With more than 15 years of international experience in marketing research, she possesses a master's of arts degree in foreign languages from State Russian University, and received her master's of business administration in marketing from the University of Michigan. Additionally, she studied advanced marketing and research at the Business Training System (BTS) in Stockholm, Sweden.

Franklin Drake
Frank has been a partner in the Raleigh, North Carolina law firm of Smith Debnam
Narron Drake Saintsing & Myers since 1994, following a sixteen year practice specializing in creditor's rights, bankruptcy and repossession law in Louisville, Kentucky where he was senior vice president of William Mapother's law firm. He has lectured at bankruptcy and regulatory compliance programs for NASCUS, CUNA, NAFCU, state regulators and credit union leagues across the United States. His articles on practical application of laws and regulations to credit union procedures have appeared in state bar magazines, nationally distributed newsletters and on the Internet. Frank especially enjoys guiding his clients around compliance pitfalls and how NOT to get sued. Frank possesses a bachelor's of arts with honors and a law degree from the University of North Carolina.

Andrew Healey
Andrew is a supervisory examiner for NCUA’s region I with a duty station of Grand Rapids, Michigan.  He supervises examiners located in Grand Rapids, Lansing, Kalamazoo, Traverse City and in Michigan's upper peninsula. He holds a master's of science in management and administrative sciences from the University of Texas at Dallas and a bachelor's of science from the University of Houston.
 

John Kolhoff
John has worked for the Office of Financial and Insurance Regulation since 1994 and is the assistant director of the credit union division, responsible for supervising the credit union safety and soundness examinations for 212 state-chartered credit unions and information technology examinations for all state-chartered credit unions and banks. He holds a bachelor’s in science in business administration from Central Michigan University.

Jordan Kingdon
Jordan is the MCUL director of government affairs. He graduated with a bachelor's of science from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts. Prior to joining the MCUL in September of 2009, Jordan spent five years as a lobbyist for Michigan’s banking industry, managing their grassroots and PAC fundraising programs.
 

Robert A. Larson
Bob is a finacial support consultant in the CU Financial Solutions area at CUNA Mutual Group where he helps credit unions understand the financial impact of CUNA Mutual’s products and services. Previously he was the director of accounting for Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union where he was responsible for asset liability management, the investment portfolio and monthly financial statements. He has also held the position of  accounting manager for Postal Credit Union, which includes his 18-plus years of credit union experience, all focusing in areas of accounting and finance. Bob holds a bachelor's of science in accounting from Metropolitan State University.

Gene Mandarino
Gene has been the organizational development manager at HRN Management Group since 2002 and brings more than 15 years experience in organizational development to the HRN team. He is responsible for creating customized organizational development solutions designed to increase a credit union’s ability to attract, retain, develop and engage talented employees, providing expertise in the areas of compensation and benefits, management training, performance management and succession planning. Gene possesses a master’s degree in organizational development from Loyola University in Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in business from Denver University.

Charley McQueen
Charley founded McQueen Financial Advisors, Inc. in 1999 to provide specialized services to financial institutions. Today, his company advises clients throughout the United States and manages investment portfolios with a combined value in excess of $1.5 billion. With over 18 years of experience, he oversees investment portfolio management, asset/liability management, mortgage servicing rights valuations, branch and business valuations, strategic acquisitions and tactical consultation.

Doug Neilsen
Doug has been instrumental in assisting thousands of individuals overcome self-imposed limitations and accelerate their personal achievement. As an executive coach and captivating keynote speaker, he infuses his audiences with energy and enthusiasm so that participants learn how to gain control of their lives and develop the motivation to consistently succeed -- both personally and professionally. Doug earned his bachelor’s degree in clinical social work and psychology and a master’s degree in behavioral science from the UNLV. He maintains his private psychotherapy practice and has gained invaluable real world business experience as chief operating officer of Pioneer Development and Support Services. He is a certified speaking professionals with the National Speaker Association and is a black belt martial arts instructor.

Scott Paulson
Scott is the regional director of CUDL's Midwest business unit based in Itasca, Illinois. He is an authority on the credit union lending marketplace, with over 25 years experience in the financial services industry.  His areas of expertise include indirect lending, consumer and residential mortgages and commercial mortgages. Scott holds a bachelor’s degree in both production management and in personnel management from Eastern Illinois University.

Jim Soenksen
Jim is the CEO of Pivot Group and possesses over 20 years of experience in the information security and technology industries. He served as an internal auditor for a fortune 100 company for 7 years. Today he is a regular speaker and expert witness on information security, conveying the knowledge and conviction it takes to fight cyber crime by offering a realistic view of today's security issues and remedies for the credit union industry. Jim is a CPA and knows how to blend business goals with technology, training and policies to improve processes by providing the appropriate security program and maintaining regulatory compliance for each individual credit union. 

Robin Wybenga
Robin is an MCUL and Affiliates league representative and works with more than 50 credit unions throughout the state. She has held many positions during her 25 years within the credit union industry from being a teller to a CEO. Robin possesses a master's degree in administration from Central Michigan University.
