Closing the Engagement Gap (Sunday Morning)
Robin Wybenga
When people are truly engaged in their work they give more “discretionary effort” and make a huge difference to their company. They ask, “What’s in it for us?” instead of “What’s in it for me?” Yet an engaged workforce is as rare as it is valuable. Not due to being inherently lazy or apathetic, but because companies and managers don’t know how to draw out the best from their employees. Based on the book, "Closing the Engagement Gap," this session will look at the five ways to engage employees using real world examples that prove it is possible to deliver a huge impact to the bottom line.

Volunteer Sessions

Finally, volunteers will learn best practices for securing a proper outside auditor and how to monitor a healthy and successful relationship with third parties.

New! Volunteer Self-Evaluations ( V430) (Saturday Midday)
CUNA Volunteer Achievement Program
The board is tasked with evaluating many aspects affecting credit union operations. This includes evaluating the CEO, to evaluating potential outside auditors. But, how often does the board stop to evaluate itself? Volunteer self-evaluation is essential to promoting an efficient and effective board of directors. Use this course to discover the tools you can use to assess how your board functions and the importance of making self-evaluation a regular part of board culture.

There will also be a discussion on recent data security breaches wherein critical information was compromised and insights on how to avoid a similar data security breach at your credit union.

Note: It is extremely important that those interested in attending either of the Volunteer Achievement Program V429 or V430 sessions register for this option, since text books need to be ordered in advance. Walk-ins may be difficult to accommodate onsite.
