Q: Are hospitality suites available?
A:
If your credit union or business is interested in reserving a Hospitality Suite during the convention, arrangements may be made now. Simply contact Monica Strucinski, at (800) 262-6285, ext. 407 or by e-mail at monica.strucinski@mcul.org.

Q: When and where is the Annual Michigan Credit Union System Golf Outing?
A: Mark your calendar for Wednesday, July 11, at 1:30 p.m. for the 2012 Golf Outing being held at beautiful Wolverine golf course. In the event the course cancels golf due to the weather, rain checks will be issued for the golf portion of the event.
                
Q: How can we donate to the Children's Miracle Network Credit Unions for Kids Auction?
A: Any credit union, business or person is welcome to donate items to either the silent auction or live auction being held at the AC&E to benefit CMN: Credit Unions for Kids.  Sports tickets, hotel packages, vacation getaways, electronics and other items are needed. If you need assistance or have additional questions, please contact financial education coordinator, Beth Troost, at (800) 262-6285, ext. 453 (beth.troost@mcul.org) or administrative assistant, Renee Cullimore, ext. 348 (renee.cullimore@mcul.org) with any questions or to make a contribution.

Q: Do you recommend bringing a lap top computer to the hotel?
A: If you hate the thought of lugging your laptop computer with you, don't! The Internet Kiosk, will be available to conventioneers during open registration hours. Send and check e-mail or surf the Internet free of charge. Otherwise, the Grand Traverse Resort offers high-speed Internet access in guest rooms and wireless access in some public areas.

Q: Who should I contact about a special need?
A:
We want every participant to enjoy their time at the AC&E. If anyone attending the AC&E has a special need, including dietary restrictions, please notify Janet Ormsby in advance at (800) 262-6285, ext. 235.
                                
Q: Is there financial assistance available for small credit unions to attend?
A: Yes! Funding is available from the Michigan Credit Union Foundation to assist credit unions with assets of $35 million or less attend educational events such as the MCUL & Affiliates AC&E. Simply check the appropriate box to apply for funding assistance at the time of registration.

Q: How convenient is parking?
A: There is plenty of free parking adjacent to the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa.

Q: Where do I go once I get there?
A: Convention registration and general information assistance will be located on the lower level of the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa. Pre-registered attendees will find their name badges, tickets and AC&E materials waiting. Additional tickets for all program events (with availability) may also be purchased at this location.

Q: What is the Attendee Lounge?
A: The Attendee Lounge provides light refreshments and comfortable seating during designated times throughout the convention. It is a great place to meet up with friends or take some time out for yourself.

Q: What is the proper attire for this event?
A: Business casual and resort wear attire is recommended and participants are encouraged to dress in layers to adjust to varying room temperatures. Slacks such as Dockers, golf shirts and comfortable shoes are examples of acceptable attire.

Q: Is there a charge to attend the Annual Membership Meeting?
A: The membership meeting is open to all registered convention attendees with an appropriate badge. There is no charge to register for the membership meeting only, however advanced registration is necessary.
                
Q: What is the smoking policy?
A: Attendees are reminded that the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa is an entirely smoke-free facility.

Q: Can guests or non-registered credit union employees/volunteers attend the exposition?
A: For a $10 donation to Children's Miracle Network: Credit Unions for Kids, non-registered guests or credit union employees/volunteers may purchase a pass for one-time admittance into the exposition. This is strictly for individuals that do not wish to attend any of the other convention events and who are affiliated with a credit union or accompanying a registered participant. The passes are available on-site at the exposition registration area.  

Q: If I win an auction item, how do I pay and take possession of it?
A: If you are the high bidder on an item at the Children's Miracle Network Auction, be sure to pick up and pay for items on Friday evening. Personal checks, VISA/MasterCard and cash are acceptable forms of payment. For the sixth year in a row, you can help CMN and also help preserve the credit union industry through the MCUL & Affiliates Charity Match Program. Any winning bidder of an item in the CMN Silent or Live Auctions can opt to make a contribution in the amount of their winning bid directly to MCULAF (State PAC) and then the CURE Defense Fund will make an equal contribution to CMN. Through this process, the winner has effectively doubled their donation dollars and both CMN and MCULAF benefit.

Q: At what time can I check-in/out of the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa?
A: Check-in at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa begins at 4:00 p.m. (ET) and check-out time is 11:00 a.m.. Express check-in/out is available.

Q: What's the best way for a convention attendee to get the most from the AC&E experience?
A: Whether this is your first time at AC&E or you are a seasoned AC& E attendee, consider registering for the Attendee Orientation. You’ll get the lowdown on all the events taking place at this year’s convention. Attendee Orientation that takes place Thursday, July 12 from 9:00 – 9:45 a.m.; it includes a brief tour and an overview of the event Smart Phone App.

Q: Is there meeting space and time set aside for my credit union to hold a board meeting or for a committee meeting to take place?
A: The following time has been set aside for individual credit union meetings: Thursday, July 12 from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Simply contact Char Turowski at (800) 262-6285 ext. 248 or char.turowski@mcul.org to make your arrangements.
