Jim Fournier,  Vice-President,  The CUCare Group

Jim Fournier is the Vice President of The CUCare Group,HR & The CUCare Group, the Michigan Credit Union League's (MCUL) wholly owned subsidiary. CUCare® provides health care coverage plans from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM) to credit unions in Michigan to offer as a benefit to its employees. In addition, CUCare® provides BCBSM administrative and billing services to participating credit unions. These services cover employee coverage changes, additions, and deletions as well as monthly billing premium billing and automated settlement.

Along with health coverage plans, CUCare® offers Flexible Spending Account (FSA) programs that conform with Section 125 of the Internal Revenue Code. CUCare® Systems is the primary sales and marketing conduit for this FSA program in Michigan which is administered by the CUNA Mutual Group (CMG) in Madison, WI.

Fournier is a licensed insurance agent and has been appointed by BCBSM to represent its plans through the association program. Responsibilities also include the operation, maintenance, and compliance of CUcorp as a licensed insurance agency. Fournier serves as a project manager, in conjunction with the MCUL/CUcorp management staff, for the relationship between the MCUL/CUcorp, and CMG. Additionally, Fournier manages the Human Resources functions for MCUL/CUcorp and has introduced HR related services to the credit unions.

Prior to joining CUcorp in 1993, Fournier spent nineteen years with Michigan National Corporation in a variety of positions. Included in this span was a three year tenure in the electronic financial services division which was responsible for credit union debit card management and automated teller machine product and services. His tenure was completed at Michigan National as an Assistant Vice President in merchant services.

Fournier holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management and Organizational Development from Spring Arbor College in Spring Arbor, Michigan. He enjoys cooking, golf, and travel as hobbies. He and Marcia, his wife, currently reside in Milford, Michigan.
