Community Involvement and Advocacy

Michigan credit unions are improving the financial well being of Michigan consumers through their CRI efforts.  Financial well being activities provided include:

  • 49,432 - The number of K-12 students Michigan credit union staff educated about savings, budgeting and credit during the 2007-2008 school year.
  • 76% - Percent of Michigan credit unions with foreclosure rates of 1 percent or less even in one of the most difficult housing markets in the country.
  • 334 - The number of student run credit union branches operated in Michigan by 60 credit unions, more than any other state.
  • 4,545 - The number of charities supported by Michigan's credit unions.
