CURE Golf Outing Raises Over $32,000 for Legislative Advocacy!
Credit union people from across Michigan gathered on July 25 to play golf and boost legislative advocacy at the CURE Golf Outing in East Lansing.
One hundred golfers participated in the event at Forest Akers West golf course by the campus of Michigan State University, and 36 sponsors helped to raise the $32,475 that will go toward scholarships for credit union officials to attend important grassroots lobbying events. This dollar amount tops last year's total of $30,965.
The team award for first place went to Terri Papiersky, Robert Schmidt, Harold White and Clyde Van Epps all from South Central CU (JA); the team award for second place went to Eric Brubaker from Members First CU (MM), Tim Benecke from Wildfire CU (MM), Kevin Long and Eric Bialczyk both from CUNA Mutual Group. Individual awards went to Veronica Madsen from MCUL & Affiliates and Charlie Cotterman from Financial Plus FCU (FL) for longest drive; and Stephanie Klocinski from MCUL & Affiliates and Gerald Little from Wanigas CU (MM), for closest-to-pin.
