Credit union people from across Michigan gathered on July 27 to play golf and boost legislative advocacy at the CURE Golf Outing in East Lansing.
Ninety-five golfers participated in the event at Forest Akers West golf course by the campus of Michigan State University, and 41 sponsors helped to raise the $30,965 that will go toward scholarships for credit union officials to attend important grassroots lobbying events. This dollar amount tops last year’s total of $29,596.
The team award for first place went to Thomas Leduc and Mike McHugh, both from The Leduc Group, PLLC, Doug Clark from The Case Group, and Randy Penner from Community Financial Members FCU (MW); the team award for second place went to Dan Peckham and Mike Voorheis, both from Wells Fargo Advisors, Brian McVeigh from Lake Trust CU (CA), and Jared Hekstra from Repocast.com. Individual awards went to Terri Papiersky of South Central CU (JA) and Joe Eufinger from Flint Area School Employees' CU (FL) for longest drive; and Teresa Santana from Wanigas CU (MM) and Mike McHugh from The Leduc Group, PLLC, for closest-to-pin.
